Draft sample text for demonstration. It has not been reviewed by legal counsel and is not yet in force.

KekeVest (“we”) runs a lease-to-own platform for kekes in Enugu. This notice explains what personal information we collect, why, who can see it and your rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

1. What we collect

  • Appointment and account details: your name and phone number when you book an office appointment, kept on your account once we create it at the visit.
  • Application details: your address and landmarks, identity documents, NIN, BVN, driver's licence, two guarantors' details, and union or reference details.
  • Verification evidence: photographs and the GPS location of your address, collected during the field visit.
  • Contract and payment records: your contract, schedule, payments and balances.
  • Vehicle data: the location and status of the keke from its tracker while you have it under contract.

2. Why we use it

  • To decide on your application and prevent fraud.
  • To prepare, explain and manage your contract and payments.
  • To protect the keke, including recovery where your contract allows it.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We ask for your consent, for a stated purpose, before collecting identity details, location, photographs or guarantor details, and we record which version of this notice you agreed to.

3. Who can see it

Each member of staff sees only what their job requires. Field agents see only their assigned visits. Asset owners never see riders' locations. We share information with our licensed payment partner and identity-verification providers only as needed to provide the service. We never sell your information.

4. How long we keep it

We keep application records for 2 years after a decision, and contract and payment records for 6 years after the contract ends. Tracker location data is kept for 12 months. After that, we delete or anonymise it.

5. How we protect it

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to sensitive records is logged in a tamper-evident audit trail.

6. Your rights

  • See the information we hold about you and get a copy.
  • Correct information that is wrong.
  • Withdraw your consent. This doesn't affect what we did before you withdrew it.
  • Ask us to delete information we no longer need.
  • Complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
